Retta has been
working with college students since 1978, helping them adjust to
college life and make the most of their academic and extracurricular
experiences. She has worked in both the 4-year university setting
and the community college environment. Her professional areas of
expertise have included residence life, admissions, student
activities and new student orientation. She has instructed
undergraduate students in First Year Experience courses, has
recruited, and trained faculty members to lead similar classes.
Retta was a founding member of the Northeast Ohio Leadership
Association and was instrumental in the design and facilitation of
its regional student leadership conference. In addition, Retta has
developed and presented various educational workshops to students:
